Complementary Therapies & Relaxation

Complementary Therapies for Oncology patient’s plays a vital role in enhancing a patient’s quality of life. Many therapies lend not only to physical relief but help reduce general anxiety and enhance the ability to cope effectively. Complementary therapies can be added to the current standard of care at all stages of diagnosis and modified according to the needs of the patient.

All our therapy treatments are designed to suit the patient’s at that particular stage in their Cancer treatment. Our therapists have many years of combined experience working in the field of Oncology and are able to support specific needs of each patient; they have all completed a Cancer care course in Complementary therapies and are registered with a Professional body & the CNHC with indemnity insurance.

Patients may experience treatment specific side effects such as; anxiety, nausea, low mood, fatigue and sleep disturbances, as well as joint and muscle pain.

We offer therapy sessions on the treatment suite Monday to Friday. Each new patient is entitled to 4 free 30 minute sessions, thereafter a charge of £30.00 is applied if the patient requests to continue their sessions.

We also provide an outpatient service at our LOC Chelsea facility which is chargeable at £45.00 for a 45min session, booked in advance.

We can also offer a variety of personalised products, such as aroma inhalers, oil & cream blends to help your continued support between treatments, some of our take home blends have small charges attached.

Our team of complementary therapists are always on hand to help you relax and to focus on something other than cancer.

Our complementary therapists welcome all new patients and will introduce the services on offer.

Many patients find their cancer dominates much of what they do. Our team can teach a ‘calm technique’ which helps you switch focus away from what’s going on around you. This helps you to relax and reduce stress. They can also incorporate complementary therapies including reflexology, massage and aromatherapy.

Please ask a member of the nursing team if you would like to know more.
