Virtual Supportive Services


In light of the recent outbreak of Covid-19, we understand our services will need to be delivered in a different way. We are committed to the care we give to our patients, and we are still available to support you virtually throughout your treatment.

Dietitian

Our Specialist Oncology Dietitians will be offering nutritional support via telephone consultations. The service will be running from Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm.

The dietitians can provide advice and support for many issues, including but not limited to: Weight loss, weight gain, loss of appetite, taste changes, altered bowel habits and nutrition before, during and after treatment.

Prior to your appointment, please contact your insurer in order to obtain an authorisation code under ‘Dietitian Service’. Rates may vary depending on your insurer.

We have an information sheet prepared on top tips for eating well during self-isolation, please do let us know if you would like to receive a copy of this.

Physiotherapy

Our Specialist Oncology Physiotherapist will be offering support via FaceTime, WhatsApp or Skype. The service will be running on Monday, Wednesday and Friday 9am – 5pm.

Some insurers are covering remote consultations. For those who are not, you can self-pay during this time. 

We have an information sheet prepared on top tips for staying active and strong during self-isolation, please do let us know if you like to receive a copy of this.

Complementary therapy

Our team of complementary therapists will be offering telephone therapy sessions which include:

1. Guided hand reflexology, (chart & script) can be emailed to you.
2. Progressive muscle relaxation techniques.
3. Mindfulness.
4. Distance Reiki
These techniques may enhance and support your sense of wellbeing and promote relaxation; as well as assist with the management of certain side effects such as anxiety, stress, pain, fatigue and insomnia.

All sessions will be offered free of charge.

Hair and Image

Raoul’s, hair and image specialists are currently offering virtual hair and image consultations. During this consultation with a wig consultant or makeup artists, you will be able to ask questions and obtain advice. If you would like to purchase a wig, this will be couriered to you.

Working with Cancer

We are working closely with ‘Working with Cancer’ during this challenging time to ensure all patients are receiving the correct advice. The team are offering 30minutes free advice to all patients.

Macmillan Cancer Support

Macmillan cancer support provide the tools, inspiration and support you may need to find the best way through your cancer journey. Macmillan are able to provide physical, financial and emotional support. An online community is available where you can share your experiences, ask questions or express your emotions and connect with others.
