I maintain an active program of basic and translational cancer research with collaborators in multiple research centres. Current areas of active interest include: Genetics and epigenetics of metastasis in breast cancer and melanoma; Mechanisms of drug resistance in cancer; Cancer Biomarkers; Novel systemic therapies for metastatic breast cancer and melanoma; Novel therapies for brain tumours and brain metastases.
Dr Crook has authored over 120 primary research papers in cancer biology, epigenetics, genetics and developmental therapeutics. These include published manuscripts in Nature, Nature Genetics, Cell, Cancer Cell, Molecular Cell, Lancet, Cancer Research, Clinical Cancer Research, Oncogene, Nature Clinical Practice Oncology, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the USA, EMBO Journal and the Journal of Investigative Dermatology.
