Compliance with CQC standards is paramount in the design and application of our systems, processes and practices. Everything we do protects patient safety whilst providing effective treatments and care. Patients are always involved in our services as partners in their own care. LOC services are designed and adapted to the specific needs and preferences of our patients.
Kindness, dignity, respect and compassion define the care that our staff provides to patients and those close to them. The golden rules for managing our organisation focus strongly on guaranteeing the best service quality in an open and honest culture and continually looking for more innovative and better ways to care and treat patients.
Following assessment by a team of external senior healthcare professionals, trained as peer review surveyors, LOC has been accredited by CHKS. This means its processes and standards meet internationally-recognised best practice, legislation and regulatory requirements.
Accreditation by CHKS provides a standards-based framework for quality assurance and quality improvement. Taking part in the process of accreditation gives an organisation the resilience and vigilance required to deliver consistently high quality healthcare services.
CHKS uses an online system to record information about processes and standards which are submitted by the applicants. This allows users to view comparative information between departments and services and to monitor performance, progress and compliance. Once this information has been submitted our external team of surveyors carries out a final assessment.
Moyra Amess, Associate Director, Assurance and Accreditation, CHKS said:
“The accreditation process requires dedication and commitment. Every organisation we make this award to has proved to our external assessors that its standards and process meet international best practice standards. This is a significant achievement.”
HCA Healthcare UK is proudly one of only eight providers in the country to be accredited and it is the first time that ESMO – the leading European professional organisation for medical oncology – has recognised cancer services provided by a private hospital group since the peer-reviewed accreditation programme began in 2003.
The award was made at the ESMO 2016 Conference on 9 October 2016 in Copenhagen, which saw medical professionals, researchers and other delegates from across Europe gather to share the latest developments in oncology research.
