These treatments have benefitted from billions of pounds worth of research a year to develop new, highly targeted drugs, which aim to kill or thwart cancer cells with a minimum of damage to the rest of your system. Drug treatments for cancer are most typically given intravenously but there are a growing number of drugs that are administered orally.
