Sexuality and Intimacy

Catherine is a specialist in psychosexual medicine and can treat patients with sexual or relationship problems both before and after treatment.  She will help individuals with a wide variety of symptoms including painful sex, loss of libido, arousal problems and poor body image.

Catherine joined us after a number of patients who attended our programme mentioned that they felt that they could not speak openly with their consultants about such things but that it was such an important topic. She is a member of the Institute of Psychosexual Medicine. 

Catherine qualified in medicine from the University of Oxford where she won several prizes for her studies.  She subsequently lectured at the Oxford Medical School in Communication Skills, based in Ethox, the Oxford Centre for Ethics and Communication in Healthcare, a post she held for nine years.  She continues to give frequent lectures in the UK and abroad.  Dr Hood is an experienced broadcaster and writer.
