Getting Here

LOC is based in Central London, in the world-famous Harley St. A Central London location is a mixed blessing. On the one hand it means excellent transport connections, whether by rail or air. On the other, it can seem daunting, with parking, traffic and congestion charging all potential discouragements for those travelling from further afield.

Free parking for patients at LOC

LOC’s prime aim is to make the experience of cancer treatment as stress-free as possible for patients. One potential source of stress arises from the location of the clinic in Central London, and the resultant problem of parking. We therefore offer a free parking voucher service for all patients for the days on which they are receiving treatment at LOC. We have recently reviewed these arrangements and as a result have set up new arrangements at a different car park to that we previously used. Our policy of providing this service without charge for patients on treatment continues.

The new car park is the NCP in Welbeck Street [behind Debenhams on Oxford Street], as shown on the map below. Please note that when using this car park the process for leaving once your parking has finished is slightly different compared to the previous arrangements at the car park in Cavendish Square.

The new free pre-paid vouchers are available from our receptionists at LOC, and can be picked-up at any time prior to the car being collected. This will be much more convenient for patients, as they will not have to collect the voucher before they park. When entering the car park, a ticket should be taken from the machine at the barrier and kept. On returning to collect the car, the original ticket needs to be inserted in to the payment machine, followed by the pre-paid voucher from LOC. What the LOC voucher does is to zero the parking charge. The original ticket will then be returned which should be used to raise the barrier at the car park exit.

Disabled Parking

Blue Badge holders can park at any designated bay for up to four hours, Monday to Friday 8.30am - 6.30pm and without limit outside these hours. They are also entitled to park for an extra hour once the paid time has expired.

Our reception team are fully aware of how the new car parking arrangements work, so please ask them if you have any questions.

If you are driving yourself and wish to park on Harley Street or any of its surrounding streets, the area is full of parking spaces. Although they fill up early in the day, if you have a little time to spare they do become regularly available.

The current rate is around £4 an hour. It is important to note that Westminster Council has done away with coin or credit card-fed meters in most of the local streets and you can only pay via mobile phone. You can pay for up to four hours of parking at a time; if you initially pay for a shorter time period, it is easy to top-up and add more time up to the four hour maximum also by phone.

For more information on how to register for this phone parking service and how to pay mobile phone, and which streets this system applies to, please vist: Westminster City Council Website.

The first time you make a phone call to park, you have to register on to the Westminster system. There are some instructions on the lamp-posts. This first call could take around 10 minutes, and the registration process can be a little laborious. But once you have registered, if you park on a subsequent occasion and use the same mobile phone, the process is very easy, quicker and more flexible.

If you are still experiencing difficulties, just ask one of our receptionists and we will do our best to assist you.

The rate at nearby car parks is slightly more expensive than meter bays in the street, but at least there you won't have to worry about the paid-for time running out.
